Plot Summary

Frédérique, married to a brutal and vile being who dies tragically during a duel with the trident, falls in love with Jean, the fiancé of her younger sister Margarido. Both fight against their passion, to see it finally flourish because, to ensure their happiness, Margarido who has guessed everything, does not hesitate to sacrifice himself.
